Professor Miroslaw J. Skibniewski is an Assistant Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Purdue University. His responsibilities in this position include administration of several campus-wide academic programs and initiatives, such as the Academic Reinvestment Program and the Faculty Program of Study in a Second Discipline. Other tasks include coordination and service on a number of university administrative and faculty committees focusing on Purdue's academic planning, review, budgeting, personnel, intellectual property, entrepreneurship, and other new programs and policies.
As Purdue University's Professor of Civil Engineering, Professor Skibniewski teaches and conducts research in the field of Construction Engineering and Management. Over the years, he has taught 19 different courses at Purdue and authored or co-authored over 100 technical publications. Professor Skibniewski is a recipient of numerous grants and awards in his technical field, including a 1986 Presidential Young Investigator Award from the National Science Foundation and a 1998 Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize from the American Society of Civil Engineers.
