Homeland Security
Homeland Security is a major issue faced by all the countries involved in this proposal, security from chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and conventional weapons used by those that desire to harm these countries and their people. One major aspect of GLORIAD that may impact the three major partners of the US, Russia and China will be the segmented architecture that allows for high-bandwidth availability during times of major disaster, or better, during times prior to such disasters when measures can be taken to use sensor networks, intelligence systems, and computational and visualization power to prevent or reduce the impact. Scientists in the GLORIAD program using the system every day for sensor networks, data fusion and decision support systems will be a wonderful way to prepare the data, operational protocols, and trusted colleagues for situations that will arise. GLORIAD could help win the peace with overwhelming communications.
