Simple Words. The GLORIAD team has enthusiastically agreed to develop the global “Simple Words” essay contest piloted in Russia. Simple Words introduces young people in the GLORIAD countries by enabling them to share their thoughts via on-line submitted essays about certain “Simple Words” (core human concepts such as, faith, hope, love, death, friends, war), and then providing a structured setting, teacher-supervised, to discuss their thoughts and opinions. The US GLORIAD investigators have already developed a complex software system for managing essay submissions (including software for teachers and sponsors). The Chicago Public Schools will be piloting this activity during the coming months.
