Korea is a participant to the project. Korean effort is being lead by KNFP (Korean National Fusion Program) which is hosted by KBSI (Korea Basic Science Institute). KNFP is in the process of constructing an experimental thermo-nuclear reactor called K*STAR, which will be operational by 2005. It is proposed that the reactor can be used as a testbed until the ITER reactor is operational.
