The map above shows current traffic flows and traffic patterns across GLORIAD - as measured in Chicago.  In the map, triangles show source of traffic; inverted trianges, destination. Sites connected by arcs are the heavist current consumers. Colors indicate network protocols and can be discovered by the listing of top users at the right. The small charts show traffic volume by application during the last two hours. Clicking on any of them takes you to a larger display.

Project: Dutch Grid (ASCI)

Description: The Grid consists of five Linux cluster systems -- one at each university -- interconnected through the Dutch university high-bandwidth network SURFnet. When complete, it will contain a total of 200 two-way IBM eServer x330 servers running Red Hat Linux and Myricom's Myrinet cluster interconnect network. The Grid will be dedicated to research programs in the field of large-scale distributed systems. Future applications will include high performance visualisation through a videowall for student education and for medical and scientific simulations.

Participants: Delft University of Technology, Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, the University of Amsterdam, Leiden University and Utrecht University, IBM

Sponsors: Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research
