Project: Grid-based Visualization Framework

Description: They are currently developing a grid-based visualization framework that will enable scalable visual browsing of spatially and temporally large datasets using Grid resources as back-ends. It utilizes Globus Toolkit components for security (e.g. GSI), resource management (e.g., DUROC, GRAM) and communication (e.g, Globus-io) to couple commodity desktops with remote, scalable storage and computational resources for interactive data exploration. The framework is designed to assist visualization dataset management, including data transport and automatic byte-swapping. It also supports multi-threaded, plug-in enabled data filtering, and parallel data sending.
