Prof. Li Jun is Deputy Director and Professor, Supervisor of Master degree students of Computer Network Information Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He received his B.S. in computer science from Hu Nan University in 1989 and his M.S. from the Institute of Computing Technology of CAS in 1992. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. part-time in computer science.
Professional Experience:
In early 1992, as project leader, Professor Li has developed the router, the key facility of NCFC project, which is a national key project funded by a World Bank loan. He was responsible for the overall design of the project and key software development as well..
In early 1994, as technical backbone, Professor Li was involved in the initial Internet connection in China. He finished the construction of independent top-level domain server of China, WWW server, E-mail server. He was also responsible for router management.
In the same year, as the technical leader, participated in the construction of CSTNet , and was responsible for the operation of the whole project.
Since 1995, has been responsible for the operation, management and development of CSTNet (China Science and Technology Network ). CSTNet is the earliest-Internet-connected network in China, is a nationwide network for the scientific and technical community, relevant government departments and hi-tech enterprises with a wide coverage of most provinces, cities and autonomous regions across the country and 1 million end-users.
Professor Li has designed and implemented the first Internet charge? system in China, a traffic monitoring system, proxy system and the Computer Network Management and Security System, which is a national 863 project.
The government has granted him special allowance for his outstanding contributions.
