Susie Baker
Susie joined the GLORIAD U.S. team in 2006, after many years as a GLORIAD enthusiast and Research Associate. As Research Leader, she leads management and strategic planning for applications development, fosters partnerships, and serves as GLORIAD's Director of Communications, Education and Outreach. Susie also seeks out applications for GLORIAD's Center for Digital Humanities and Social Sciences.Susie's career has included directing a U.S. Government-funded national research program for American scholars, managing professional training programs for global citizens, and implementing nonproliferation assistance programs. She served on the Department of Energy’s Working Group for the Russian-American Nuclear Cities Initiative.
In earlier years, Susie taught American Studies and English language at a chemistry magnet high school in St. Petersburg, Russia, and managed the Future Leaders Exchange Program for high school students in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Susie is President of KidFutures, Inc., and leads the Cosmonauts Club, a Russian-language science, technology and arts enrichment program for K-2 students at Takoma Park Elementary School in Maryland. Susie has a B.A. in Economics from the University of California at Davis, and an M.A. in Russian Language and Literature from the University of Oregon.
